Description

Ced 106c is classified as interstellar matter and is part of the vast Vela Supernova Remnant formed about 11,000 years ago in the aftermath of a Type II Supernova.
It is about 800 light years away with an apparent magnitude of 6.66 and is about 27 by 21 arcminutes in size.

This is the center of a 4 panel mosaic, which is work a in progress, but the days have been very hot and the camera struggled to hold -13 degrees C at night.

However, as if so often the case with large warm air masses in summer, the seeing was off the scale over the course of 3 rare clear nights. With luck tonight will keep up the streak and let me grab the last panel.
